Fat Pigs feeding at the Trough

      2009-07-15 09:01:21

How wrong is it that in this country our health care system is based on profit NOT on keeping people healthy or saving their lives? During the Republican years, deregulation was responsible for health care companies...a small group of large insurance companies...being able to buy up smaller health insurers, many of them not-for-profit. The stated goal was to make the health care system "more efficient".

So why did health costs soar and healthcare company CEO's compensations exploded into the multimillions. Because these greedy pigs were going for profit and boosting their stock price. Their companies worked at figuring out how to make a sick person who had paid their premiums for years ineligible for coverage instead of making them well.Almost 20,000 people die each year in this country because they cannot afford health insurance.

Health costs went through the roof and show no sign of leveling off. Why? Because their is no real competition. They are like fat pigs feeding at the trough.

These big companies are now trying desperately trying to kill the health initiative of the Obama adminstartion because it will introduce into the market a big competitor...the U.S. government and this government's plan will NOT be profit motivated. This plan's goal will be to help the people recover from illness and save their lives.

Insurance companies will be using their old tactics of paying lobbists huge sums of money to influence congress and have inspired Republicans to come up with their own healthcare plan.

I am not a democrat or republican. I am an independent who is tired of companies being able to put profit over people. We need the government option Obama health plan. Don't let the pigs keep feeding at our trough.

Wake up! The revolution is NOW!
